As we approach the holidays our schedules get busier and busier.  If you have a hard time saying no then you will probably end up doing things you really don’t want to do.  This will lead to burn out faster than aunt betty spiking the holiday eggnog.

As mothers, we tend to have the do-it-all disease.

🎄  Christmas baking for the school craft fair…sure

🎄  Office party…I’ll be there

🎄  Secret Santa…sure

🎄 Trim the tree party…what can I bring

🎄  Can you watch the kids while we go out for a nice quiet dinner…of course

🎄  Classroom Christmas craft volunteers…sure

🎄  Decorating Christmas cookies, that you need to make…sure, what time

🎄 Playdate after playdate

If you have a hard time saying no your schedule will be fuller than Santa’s belly.  No wonder the holidays are a stressful time of year.

We take on too much dam stuff!

Somewhere along the way, we picked up the false belief that saying no makes us feel rude, lame, not in the holiday spirit or lazy. You need to re-frame those thoughts right now. I know you’re not like that.  You’re a mom doing your absolute best and you need to drop the guilt around saying no.  Putting yourself and your family needs ahead of pleasing everyone is not selfish, it’s a necessity.

What I love about men and some women, is that they have no problem saying no. If they don’t want to do something they have no balls about saying it point blank.  I want you to repeat after me: My lady balls are divine, they give me courage when I’m lacking.  Your lady balls are actually your ovaries, they didn’t descend because you’re a beautiful woman…I feel a Beyonce moment coming on.

Let’s take back Christmas!

Who’s with me?

🎀  Being able to say no confidently

🎀  No more stumbling over your words

🎀  Having zero guilt for putting your needs and your family needs ahead of the season

There are 4 things to remember:

1) Don’t lie
2) Don’t make excuses
3) Don’t over-explain yourself
4) Just simple decline

I’m putting the finishing touches on my new Holiday Workbook “Bring Back the Magic of the Holidays”. One of the bonuses is the “11 Ways To Say No With Grace” made for you worksheet.  There is so much value in this workbook I can’t contain my excitement, stay tuned!
